Asher had his 10 month well baby visit yesterday! He weighs in at 19 pounds, and is still an overall skinny dude: 17th percentile for weight, and 48th percentile for height. Dr. Fitzpatrick was impressed that Ashi eats all the same food that Abba and Ima eat, and can stand up while only holding on with one hand. She was also proud of his great sleeping skills - a good 10 hours straight on most nights. Way to grow Ashi!
Ima had Monday off because of Passover, and spent the afternoon with Ashi. Luckily Abba was around to snap these pictures.
It was 71 degrees in Philly today, so Ashi, Rivky, and Ima headed to the park for a photo session.
(Grass was the snack of choice. Ima got *most* of it out of Ashi's mouth.)

Ashi is cruising pretty well now. That means that he can pull his little self up onto furniture, use it to support some steps, and get pretty much anywhere he wants. For your viewing pleasure, some examples of the trouble he's been managing to get himself into...

Saba bought Ima a new camera for her birthday, so she has officially turned into a "mamarazzi." Today, she managed to get some pretty good shots of Asher's new black eye, which he got by trying to use an open door to stand up and falling into the doorpost. Ouch! You know what we say around here, though..."The bigger the boy, the bigger the bump...."

Asher broke out his new ride yesterday and went hiking in the Wissahickon with Abba, Ima, and Rivky. It off-roaded surprisingly well, even up big hills and over rocky ground.

Granger the puppy was so happy to meet Asher, because she thought another puppy had come over to play. Too bad Auntie Amanda stepped in to ruin the fun. At least they got to share a toy...
Asher loves wheels! He's drawn like a magnet to anything laying around that has wheels. Maybe he would also like a truck or something for his birthday...
Asher is concerned. He told me that he's sure everyone is already worried about what to buy him for his birthday...in fact, that's probably all anyone thinks about. He doesn't want anyone to stress out, so we'll be posting updates to his wishlist on this blog to better inform his adoring public.
#1 Tickle me Elmo
Asher thinks Elmo is about the funniest thing on TV. An Elmo that moves on his own might entertain Ashi enough to give Ima 20 minutes of peace and (relative) quiet - a small miracle.
#2 VTech Tote n'Go Laptop Plus
This laptop looks more or less like Ima's, but is much less expensive and much harder to damage.
